The Prefect Card. Kevin Farrell, who is traveling in the United States and Canada these days, is attending a meeting today, at Boston College, on “Amoris Laetitia: A New Momentum for Moral Formation and Pastoral Practice.” The conference has brought together 24 moralist theologians from around the world to discuss the Apostolic Exhortation “Amoris Laetitia” and, in particular, its pastoral application. This is the first time that so many theologians have gathered in the United States to discuss the pastoral care of marriage and family.

The Prefect’s intervention is focused in particular on young people and marriage preparation within the US cultural context.

The participants include twelve bishops and some of the best-known theologians in the US: Cathleen Kaveny, Richard Gaillardetz, and Hosffman Ospino of Boston College; Julie Hanlon Rubio of St. Louis University; Sr. Katarina Schuth of St. Thomas University, and Meghan Clark of St. John's University.

In the coming days, Cardinal Farrell will go on to Canada where he is expected at Salt & Light TV for the filming of a talk show with a large group of young people on the theme of the Synod.
