More than 100 thousand women and as many families have been helped over the past decade. These are the "numbers" of the project "Support for Responsible Mothers" that was launched ten years ago, at the initiative of the Mexican Family Movement, one of the member groups of the International Confederation of Christian movements for the family, founded in 1966, which brings together 120,000 Catholic families from 43 countries around the world.

"In a context where the number of single-parent families—especially single mothers—is increasingly high, many complex problems need to be dealt with," said the promoters, with reference to the steps in Amoris Laetitia through which Pope Francis asks the Church to "accompany with attention and care the weakest of her children, who show signs of a wounded and troubled love, by restoring in them hope and confidence, like the beacon of a lighthouse in a port or a torch carried among the people to enlighten those who have lost their way or who are in the midst of a storm."

The project, which in this sense preceded the Pope's appeal, consists in bringing mothers together in small communities, where they can find friendship, recognition of their dignity, appreciation, and love. At the same time, they participate in a training course focused on human development and faith, intended to promote increasingly full and responsible motherhood.
