Set on a hill, on a site that covers 15,000 square meters, there will be a house for pilgrims with 103 family-sized rooms, a home for refugees and the poor, a church, and a structure with auditoriums and classrooms for social and family ministry.

This will be the International Family Center of Nazareth, whose construction will soon begin. The announcement was made a few days ago by Salvatore Martinez, president of the Renewal in the Spirit and of the Vatican Foundation “International Family Center of Nazareth,” which is realizing the “dream” of John Paul II, promoted by Benedict XVI, and now supported by Francis.

“We are working—announced Martinez—on a Papal Prize for families that will give recognition to those who have distinguished themselves in specific areas, without discrimination. Korea will be the first nation to benefit from this initiative.”

After the Synod, he added, “an intercultural and interreligious project for young people will also be launched, which intends to be an opportunity to create a leadership attentive to friendship and collaboration for the construction of tomorrow’s families, with the new lexicon of integral human development.”
