The 2018 edition of “Disegni di affettività” (Designs of Affectivity), an initiative of the Italian Catholic Action for engaged and young married couples, now in its tenth year, will start tomorrow in Assisi. “Life is Sweet: Music and Words, Our Project of Love” is the title of a weekend workshop which, until Sunday, will give participants from all over Italy the opportunity to reflect on the beauty and the deep meaning of their vocation to married life.

“In choosing the theme, we have adopted ideas from Pope Francis’ Amoris Laetitia and the project of wanting to form a family ‘resolved to be a part of God’s dream’ (AL 321), and the consequent ability of the couple to be a ‘shepherding in mercy, generating life, offering hospitality and welcoming (AL 322-324),” say Annarita and Carmine Gelonese, responsible for the AC family and life section. The theme of the event will be music: “It is the perfect image of relationships and especially of affective bonds—explain the Gelonese spouses. The rhythm and the silences, the space and the writing, the times and the codes... As on a pentagram, every couple will be called to generate its own ‘score,’ a project open to their own good, to the acceptance of life, to the construction of a more hospitable and welcoming society opposed to every temptation of disintegration that may want to impose itself.”
