HISTORY

ICPE Mission was founded in Malta by Mario and Anna Cappello, supported by the leaders and members of the Glory of God International Covenant Community, a Catholic Charismatic Renewal community, of which it remains an integral part.  In 1992, the ICPE Mission received canonical recognition from the Archbishop of Malta.  During the years, the Institute spread across all continents and evolved in different expressions that are united through the charism of worship and evangelisation.  On 19 May 2002, the Pontifical Council for the Laity decreed recognition of the Institute for World Evangelisation-ICPE Mission as an international association of the faithful of Pontifical Right.

IDENTITY

ICPE Mission is an international, Catholic, charismatic, covenant community made up of Christians from all backgrounds.  Through evangelisation, discipleship, community building and humanitarian work, the ICPE Mission pursues its purpose of training and forming lay people who are capable of responding to the call to holiness and to serve the mission of the Church.  At the core of the apostolate of the ICPE missionaries is the zeal to affect the world for Christ wherever they may be, and wherever they are sent. The heart of their spirituality is the baptismal covenant of love for God, lived in docility to the Holy Spirit through prayer, the study of Scripture and service within a network of committed relationships in community.  In the pursuit of its purposes, ICPE Mission seeks to read the signs of the times, in order to present the Christian message as a prophetic response to the specific situations in contemporary life, using methods, concepts and terminology which are suitable for handing on the Gospel of Christ to the men and women of today.

ORGANISATION

ICPE Mission is governed by the Executive Council, made up of elected and co-opted members, including the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, and representatives of the different states of life within the international community. The Executive Council is flanked by a consultative structure made up of national Directors and Coordinators of the various expressions, aspects of community life and initiatives. The association is made up of lay members - married and single, diocesan priests, and consecrated men and women.

WORKS

Along the years, and in different countries, ICPE Mission has established projects and initiatives for catechetical training, evangelisation and humanitarian work that vary in scope and target audience.  Among others, one could mention Millennium Films International, a ministry for evangelisation; Woman to Woman, promoting the dignity and identity of women; HopeXchange, an international, humanitarian organization promoting integral development; Pastoral Care Course, empowering those who journey with others in their woundedness through inner healing.
