“Deepening the knowledge of the truth about marriage and the family, in the light of faith and with the help of the different human sciences, and preparing priests, religious, and laypeople to render an increasingly qualified academic and pastoral service” has always been the Mission of the Pontifical John Paul II Institute, which is once again proposing a rich offer of formation for the academic year 2017-2018.

Licenses in the Theology of marriage and family, Masters in marriage and family sciences, bioethics and formation, in fertility and conjugal sexuality as well as in family counseling, along with on-going formation in family ministry for priests, are just some of the Institute’s proposals now in the 36th year since its foundation, desired by St. John Paul II.

“Today, St. John Paul II’s far-sighted intuition—explain the promoters, repeating the words Pope Francis addressed to the academic community of the Institute last year—can be even better recognized and appreciated today in its fruitfulness and timeliness. His wise discernment of the signs of the times vigorously recentered the attention of the Church and of human society itself on the depth and delicacy of the bonds generated by the conjugal alliance of man and woman.

The Institute’s development on the five Continents confirms the validity and significance of the “Catholic” form of its program. The vitality of this project–they add, with the words of Pope Francis—encourages the further development of initiatives of discussion and exchange with all academic institutions, including those that belong to different religious and cultural spheres and are committed today to reflecting on this very delicate frontier of human life.”
