Faith and Sport

Radio Maria USA’s program “Faith and Sport” is dedicated to the sports world, with comments and interviews on the latest news on sports events. However, the program also presents discussions on ethics, morality, and spirituality with the participation of athletes, administrators, managers, and coaches, as well as sportsmen and fans.

Recently, the head of the Church and Sports Office of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, Santiago Pérez de Camino, was interviewed by the professor of sports science of Wingate University, John Acquaviva.

In the interview, along with a presentation of the Vatican Office created specifically at the request of Pope Saint John Paul II, Santiago Pérez de Camino explained the Vatican’s projects for the formation of values and virtues needed in the world of sport and useful for evangelizing as well as for the development of the world’s poorest regions.
