"Faithfulness and Trust: The Logic of Desire and the Theology of Faith” is the theme of the study seminar promoted by the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute.

Today, the culture of faithfulness and trust is confronted by a critical civil ethic. This Seminar in tends to deepen the research and re-propose the anthropological quality of these two figures: faithfulness and trust, as structural and constitutive relations of human existence. Thus, through the witness of the free obedience of faith, one comes to recognize God as the authentic principle of reliability and trust in the promises of life’s meaning.

At this encounter, Pierangelo Sequeri will speak on “The Certainty of Affection in the Act of Faith: Knowledge and Love,” Pierpaolo Donati on “Social Bond, Relational Trust, Personalization of the Institutions,” and Cathérine Ternynck on “Strength and Fragility of Promised Love: Ambivalences of Desire.”
