The vocation of the family

“With the same look of tenderness and mercy that Jesus had, the Church wants to accompany families so that every family might be a pillar of evangelization. I would like to say one thing to you: with the sacrament of matrimony, every family receives the Grace to become a light in the darkness of the world.” – says Pope Francis in the first of 10 videos which promotes the “Amoris Laetitia Family” Year. The Pope’s speech is accompanied by a reflexion of Angela and Antonio, a married couple sharing their testimony related to the sacrament of marriage. “After thirty-one years of married life, we found sacramental grace of marriage is making things possible with Jesus” – they say.  

A series of 10 videos inspired by different chapters of the Apostolic Exhortation “Amoris Laetitia”, encourages to reread this papal document and to rediscover the family as a gift, despite every problem, obstacle and challenge that families have to face today.

Each video, accompanied by a pastoral guidebook divided in four parts, can be used flexibly either by families or by various ecclesial groups to nurture reflection, dialogue and pastoral practice as well as to families in their spiritual and concrete daily lives. 

This pastoral resource is an initiative of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, as part of the initiatives of the « Amoris Laetitia Family » Year.
