“Amoris Laetitia. A Provocation for Priests” is the title of the book written by Fr. Silvio Longobardi with the intent of offering priests a synthetic reading of the Apostolic Exhortation and striving to answer the question: If the document speaks to everyone, what does it say and what does is ask of priests?

“Amoris Laetitia—we read in the book’s presentation—is not only addressed to spouses and families, but also to priests, who need to understand what this Pope is exhorting them to do. The reading of the text thus proposes a very interesting profile of the priest who puts the Pope's requests into practice in ordinary pastoral action for the family.”

In the preface, the President of the Episcopal Commission for the Family, Youth and Life, Msgr. Pietro Maria Fragnelli, writes that “the ten short chapters present an ecclesiological and pedagogical trajectory that will greatly help seminarians in formation and priests in their ministry with and for the family.”

The book is enriched by three detailed outlines, which can be used personally or for meetings with clergy, and, beginning with some sentences from Amoris Laetitia, attempt to draw a profile of the shepherds called to interpret and translate Pope Francis’ pastoral proposal.
