“Youth and Life Choices: Educational Perspectives” is the theme of the international congress that will be held in Rome in September just before the celebration of October’s Synod of Bishops on “Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment.”

The proposal, an initiative of the Salesian Pontifical University and the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences “Auxilium,” will be composed of four sessions dedicated to “listening to the multiple and plural worlds of the young,” to “deepening the connection between young people and life choices,” to the “proposal of perspectives of educational and pastoral interventions, starting from the original contribution of the Salesians’ educational charism,” and to the “presentation of good practices of paths for educating young people to making choices in different spheres of life.” The Congress, the promoters explain, intends to “make a contribution to the study of the world of youth in connection with life choices, starting from the specific point of view that qualifies university research in the educational sciences and in the more general perspective of Christian pedagogical humanism, which is the basis of St. John Bosco’s preventive system.”
