Laity, Family and Life: A Transversal Interconnection
The video interview to the Under Secretary Linda Ghisoni foolowing the adoption of the new statute
"The competences of a Dicastery like ours, for the Laity, Family and Life, reveal themselves more and more in their connection, in their transversal interconnection."
These are the words of Linda Ghisoni, Undersecretary of our Dicastery, after the approval of the new statute, which entered into force on May 13th.
"How could we speak of the family—continues the undersecretary—without considering the baptismal vocation of the laity, without thinking about the laity’s formation? And how could we talk about human life in all its forms and educational challenges, without considering young people, the elderly, women and men in their relationship within the family, in the Church, in society? In our daily work, it becomes clear, through growing evidence, that the Dicastery is placed at the intersection of the vital hubs of every contemporary man and woman."
The full interview is also available—with subtitles in English, Spanish, French and Portuguese—on our YouTube channel.
