Perinatal medicine offers today extraordinary opportunities to assist the unborn, but at the same time it poses important medical, ethical, spiritual and pastoral questions in the concrete accompaniment of couples and families living the experience of their new-born suffering from serious illness or disability.
The International Conference entitled “Yes to Life! Caring for the precious gift of life in its frailness”, intends to offer reflection and formation from a scientific perspective and with pastoral concern for such situations, with a view, in particular, to promoting a genuine welcoming culture of nascent life diagnosed with fetal pathologies.
The conference intends to serve the fact that no matter the child’s condition, life is always a gift and “an opportunity to grow in love, mutual aid and unity” (Amoris Laetitia, 47).
