You have until 5 March to register for the special cycle of the Master’s Degree in Sciences of Marriage and the Family, offered by the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family, in collaboration with the Italian Episcopal Conference’s National Office for Pastoral Family Ministry. This Master’s Degree—the organizers explain—is offered to family pastoral agents a path with an innovative, unified structure including theological preparation, pastoral attention, and moments of fraternal life.

The course is intended to prepare formators of local churches in the field of family pastoral; experts in issues relating to the integral vision of the human person, the plan of God for the love of man and woman and the unborn; cultural animators who make the most of the contribution of the human sciences and theology within the family; and spouses able to make a competent and significant contribution to the development of the theology of marriage and the family.

The presential lectures are distributed in three weeks of attendance, one per year of this three-year course, and they are complemented by on-line sequences and courses of specialization in thematic areas through tutoring and enriched with educational experience.

The courses are subdivided into five areas: the human sciences, pastoral theology, biblical-theological studies, anthropology, and moral theology. For each of these areas, the Institute will provide for a tutor to whom will be assigned the work of following, during the three years, those students that will have chosen to concentrate their formation in that area. The tutoring team is composed of Prof. Alexandra Diriart (Biblical-Theological Studies), Prof. Stephan Kampowski (Anthropology), Prof. Oana Gotia (Moral Theology), Prof. Furio Pesci (Human Sciences) and Prof. Juan José Prez-Soba (Pastoral Theology).
