A Vocation to be Renewed

The Archdiocese of Toledo proposes a path for spouses celebrating their silver anniversary

For years now, golden and silver wedding anniversaries have been celebrated in different parishes of the Archdiocese of Toledo. The diocesan delegate for the family and life, Miguel Garrigós Domínguez, recently announced that a special course, prepared in collaboration with the three family movements present in the archdiocese (the Teams of Our Lady, the Marital Encounter, and the Christian Family Movement), will also be held in 2018 for married couples who will celebrate their silver anniversary this year.

This initiative does not replace but in fact reinforces what is already being done in the parishes: the idea consists in seizing the occasion of the 25th wedding anniversary to ensure that the spouses can deepen their vocation, by renewing their mutual conjugal love.

Couples will be invited to take part in three special moments during the year: at the first encounter, on 3 February, they will be taken on a guided tour through the city of Toledo to contemplate the life of married couples and families who have lived their vocation to the fullest. This will be followed by three days together, each prepared by one of the three family movements. Finally, in the afternoon of 23 June, Archbishop Braulio Rodríguez Plaza will preside a mass for the couples celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary who have taken part in this year’s path.
