Towards Dublin

The family continues to be good news for today's world!

Today the letter of invitation to the IX World Meeting of Families, scheduled to be held in Dublin from 21 to 26 August 2018, was presented in the Press Room of the Holy See.

In the letter addressed to Cardinal Farrell and made public today, the Holy Father asks whether "the family continues to be good news for today's world?" And he adds, "I am sure the answer is yes! And this 'yes' is firmly based on God's plan. The love of God is His 'yes' to all creation and at the heart of this latter is man."

What the Pope is speaking about is true family love, lived according to the words, "please", "thank you" and "I’m sorry" and with attention to each person's fragility.

During the press conference, at which Msgr. Martin, Archbishop of Dublin, was also present, Cardinal Farrell pointed out that "the preparation of this great event is just as important for all individual dioceses and parishes as the final celebration in Ireland will be."

This is a path to which the Pope invites every Christian community and that will culminate in the event in Ireland, where, according to the Prefect of the Congregation for the Laity, Family and Life, not only bishops and parish priests should be involved but in which the laity and families should have a central role.
