At the closure of the "Amoris Laetitia Family" Year, and some days after the 10th World Meeting of Families, the Keys to Bioethics - A Manual of Bioethics for Youth App, created by the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation and the Holy See's Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life - launched during WYD Panama in 2019 - has now been published as an e-book in 4 languages (Italian, English, Spanish and Portuguese). French version is in the process of being published.

The Manual of Bioethics aims at objectively introducing children and young people to the significant issues of Bioethics, which arise in each of us when faced with scientific and technological progress, leaving us sometime disoriented. Adhering to the principles of science and human reason, it aims at helping to give simple answers starting from precise and rigorous technical information, to which the Christian faith adds meaning.

"With this  Manual we wish to offer young people around the world a practical and up-to-date tool to answer some of the questions that clutter their minds when faced with the great challenges generated by scientific and technological progress. These are straightforward, simple yet comprehensive answers that can help young people grasp the truth about the beauty and uniqueness of every human life," declares Card. Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

"Keys to Bioethics – A Manual for Youth objectively introduces the main questions of bioethics that everyone asks themselves. Being based on science and reason, yet also on the ultimate horizon of theology and the Magisterium of the Church, Keys to Bioethics allows the reader to understand, in a simple way, thanks to precise and meticulous information, that human life is beautiful and that it is necessary to behold it in awe, in order to remove the obstacles that cloud our understanding of it. If these pages manage to increase our knowledge about life and make us understand that we all have a mission as guardians over every human life, then they will have achieved their goal." Jean Marie Le Méné, President of the Jérôme Lejeune Foundation.

On the occasion of the "Amoris Laetitia Family" Year, the Pope invites us to strive to discover together, as a family of families, the values that lead to the true Good. To this end, this e-book is intended to help transmit the teaching and hope of life to our young people. It can be useful for parents and educators to accompany young people on the path of accurate reflection on the most current issues concerning bioethics.

Keys to Bioethics - A Manual of Bioethics for Youth was produced in collaboration with the Web Services Division of the Holy See's Dicastery for Communication.
