The Panama WYD at the Center of the First Latin American Congress on Pastoral Care of Tourism

“Tourism, Pilgrimage and Sustainable Development” is the theme of the First Latin American Congress on the Pastoral Care of Tourism, which is being held in Panama, at the Auditorium “Benjamin Ayechu” of the Universidad Santa Maria La Antigua, in preparation for the 2019 World Youth Day.

On the day dedicated to the upcoming WYD, Father João Chagas, head of the Youth Section of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, will speak on “The 2019 WYD: An Opportunity for the Continent.” During his visit to Panama, Fr. Chagas also went to some of the sites and attended preparatory meetings in view of 2019’s event.

On the occasion of the Congress, the Archbishop of Panama, H.E. Msgr. José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta, recorded for us a video message of solidarity addressed to Mexico’s earthquake victims, exalting the spiritual value of the Pilgrimage of the WYD Symbols, which is continuing in areas struck by the seism last week.
