Evangelizing and Promoting Values through Sports

Sports as a tool for the integration of social groups at risk—including immigrants, prisoners, people in need and with disabilities—but also, in general, as a means to improve society was the theme of the intervention given by Santiago Pérez de Camino, head of the Dicastery's Church and Sports Office, a few days ago in Bologna at the first annual meeting of the European Academy of Religion.

During the conference, which brought over 900 participants together for 144 panels, other topics related to the couple faith-sports were discussed with from the viewpoints of psychology and the theology of the body, and in the light of the Second Vatican Council.
