Dicastery
The Pope has nominated the members and consultors of the Dicastery
The names of the Members and Consultors of the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life, appointed by Pope Francis have been published today. Together they will assist our Dicastery together with the three cardinals who had already been appointed in December of last year.

Art 3 of the Statutes of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life states the following in paragraph § 1: “The Dicastery has its own members, including lay faithful, men and women, single and married, engaged in different fields of activity and from different parts of the world, thus reflecting the universal character of the Church.” Similarly, in § 2 it states: “It has its own Consultors”. The names of 25 new members of our Dicastery have been published today and added to the three members who had been appointed last December. Additionally, 26 new consultors have also been published today. All appointments are made for the duration of five years. The list of 28 members include eight cardinals, two bishops, one religious, three married couples and eleven lay people. The 26 consultors include seven priests, four religious, two married couples and eleven lay people.
