Our Secretary, Awi Mello in Panama for the preparations for World Youth Day

For the past few days, Father Alexandre Awi Mello, Secretary of our Dicastery, was in Panama along with Father João Chagas, Head of the Youth Office, joining in the preparations for World Youth Day to take place from 22 to 27 January 2019.
Meetings with the local committee covered various matters, from the registration of pilgrims at their accommodation, pastoral and logistical preparation in the dioceses for the WYD days. During his homily at the Mass packed with volunteers, Father Awi encouraged them to live this period of Advent in joyous waiting for Our Lord who will come at Christmas, but also at the forthcoming WYD, both through the participation of Pope Francis and the thousands of young people who will arrive in Panama from all over the world.
