Appointments
Cardinal Farrell’s words of gratitude
Pope Francis has appointed the cardinal to be a member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life

"I am grateful to Pope Francis for the trust he has placed in me through this appointment. I confirm my full readiness to serve the Holy Father and the universal Church. On the occasion of this new appointment in the area of consecrated life, I will offer the experience I accumulated over the years I spent as a bishop in the United States. There, I was often in contact with the richness of the varied realities of consecrated life".
These are the words of gratitude expressed by Cardinal Kevin Farrell, Prefect of our Dicastery, after his appointment as member of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. The news was communicated through the Press Office Bulletin.
In addition to being a member of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See and of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, the Prefect has also been the Camerlengo of the Holy Roman Church since 14 February of this year.
