Synodality for a better participation in the journey of the Church
Cardinal Kevin Farrell opens the Annual Meeting with Moderators
After the Opening Mass in Saint Peter’s Basilica and the Audience with Pope Francis, the Annual Meeting with Moderators of Associations of the Faithful, Ecclesial Movements and New Communities got into full swing. The introduction by the Prefect of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, H. Em. Cardinal Kevin Farrell, focused on synodality – the central theme of the Meeting – in order to reflect on how to better participate in the journey that the Church is on.
“You have an important task in the current synodal process and in the work that is being done to revive dialogue, listening, community discernment, the shared apostolate”, Cardinal Farrell said, “These, in fact, are dimensions of synodality that you have long since learnt to live”.
This was followed by the two main lectures by Professor Rafael Luciani, Lecturer at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas (Venezuela) and appointed Expert of the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on Synodality, and Dr Elisa Lisiero, a Dicastery official.
