Adults Listening with #Velodicoio
From the Italian Bishops’ Conference, an interactive project to explore the ambitions, hopes, and fears of the young under 30

#Velodicoio, the new portal dedicated to listening to young people, is online.
This is an interactive project conceived by the National Youth Pastoral Service of the Italian Bishops’ Conference (CEI) to explore the ambitions, hopes, and fears of the younger generations, specifically those under 30.
The project #Velodicoio, explains the CEI representative, “is motivated by Pope Francis’ will to look at the world of the young and understand their dreams, hopes, and expectations, as well as announcing a Synod on young people, the Synod scheduled for October 2018 that he defines himself as young and bears the title Young people, faith and vocational discernment.”
“This is not really a survey—the site says—because there is no statistical concern at the base. We have set ourselves the goal of providing a tool that can be made available to all and encourage group comparison with young people on ten specific themes: quest, building a home, encounters, complexity, bonds, care, gratuity, credibility, direction, projects.”
For each thematic area, a set of questions is available (61 in all), and the results will be visible on the site within a few days.
