San Calisto Community
Educating Young People in the Light of Amoris Laetitia
At the Dicastery, the second international seminar of the network of experts studying the educational programs in the emotional-sexual field
On 4 and 5 May, the San Calisto Community held its second international seminar at our Dicastery, to study proposals and interventions in the field of affective and sexual education in the light of Amoris Laetitia.
Experts in theology, philosophy, pastoral ministry, education, and communication from countries around the world discussed with the Dicastery’s leaders the aim of creating a digital platform to serve parents, formators, and teachers. Concretely, this platform is intended to be a center where already existing educational programs in the emotional-sexual field can share knowledge that may be validly used in the contexts of different countries, and where educators can meet and discuss the development of new initiatives aimed at showing what the Church proposes and teaches, in the life of the individual communities.
The meeting—introduced by the Dicastery’s Prefect, Card. Kevin Farrell, and moderated by the Prefect’s delegate for the family, Msgr. Carlos Simón Vásquez—was enriched by the interventions of the Secretary, Fr. Alexandre Awi Mello, and the Undersecretary for life, Gabriella Gambino.
The Community’s first projects will be presented at the Dublin World Meeting of Families in August. Another work session is scheduled for next November.
