Youth
Towards social friendship
In Turin, an event in view of the Global Compact on Education

“We were inspired by the synodal process with young people and by the Apostolic Exhortation ‘Christus vivit,’ in which the Holy Father speaks directly on the importance of social friendships among youth.” And so João Chagas, Director of the Youth Office of our Dicastery, introduces the event: “Towards social friendship,” in which the Dicastery is collaborating, and that will take place in Turin next 6 – 8 March.
The event will involve young people ages 18 – 29 who are engaged in ecumenical and interreligious dialogue and in youth ministry, together with the heads of relevant offices, coming from Italy and other European countries.
The meeting, explain the organizers of the event, is in preparation for the Global Compact on Education which Pope Francis has organized in the Vatican for 14 May 2020, and it serves as a prelude to the broader conference on social friendships which will be held from 4 – 7 March 2021.
