Events with Grandparents, the Elderly and Youth: Pope Francis' calendar for July and August
Dialogue between generations and the theme of the visitation will be the focus of the two celebrations

The Holy Father's calendar of appointments for the current month of July and the upcoming month of August was released today. There are three appointments and at least two involve events entrusted to the responsibility of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life. These are the III World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly and the XXXVII World Youth Day.
Farrell: the Holy Father will be present at two very important moments for the Universal Church
"During the summer period, the Holy Father will be present at two very important moments for the Universal Church," comments Card. Kevin Farrell, Prefect of the Dicastery."The pastoral care of grandparents and the elderly has made a huge breakthrough after Pope Francis established the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly in 2021," Farrell continues, "and the Dicastery is committed to promoting the celebration of the Day in every diocese throughout every continent”.
The apostolic journey to Portugal for the XXXVII World Youth Day, from 2 to 6 August, will be an opportunity for the Holy Father to meet with youth from all over the world. "We are grateful to the Holy Father for the high priority and attention he always gives to young people and their thirst for an encounter with Christ," Farrell concluded.
Another apostolic trip on the calendar is that to Mongolia, from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4.
