Ad Limina
At the service of the Church in Kenya
August was the month of the meeting with Kenya

The meeting of the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life with the bishops of the Kenya Episcopal Conference took place on 27 August, on the occasion of the ad Limina Visit of the African prelates.
A living Church, a land of first proclamation
More than 13 million people are baptised in Kenya, a number equal to more than 25% of the population, but the Christian population is not equally distributed throughout the African country.
The Church in Kenya is numerically growing, but large parts of the country are still a land of first proclamation. Although it is a Church organised in small grassroots communities and with a strong involvement of the laity in the pastoral life of the communities, its presence in society struggles to establish itself.
Helping and accompanying those in difficulty
Youth and family pastoral work is committed to training more and more lay people to help and accompany those who are in difficulty due to poverty, migration, climate change.
