H. E. Msgr. Dario Gervasi was born in Rome on 9 May 1968. After attending a first year of Physics at Tor Vergata University in Rome, he entered the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary in 1988. He was ordained Priest of the Diocese of Rome on 22 May 1994. He completed his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University, where he earned a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology in 2000.

He was a visiting student at the Interdisciplinary Centre for the Formation of Formators at the Pontifical Gregorian University from 2011 to 2013. Fr. Dario Gervasi began his pastoral ministry as Assistant Pastor in the Parish of Santa Maria delle Grazie at Trionfale, Rome. He then became Assistant Pastor at the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne at Tuscolano, and from 2003 to 2008 he was a Pastor there. From 2008 to 2014, he was the Vice-Rector of the Pontifical Roman Major Seminary, and from 2014 to 2020, he was the Pastor of the Church of the Resurrection in Giardinetti, Rome. On 18 October 2020, he was consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of the Southern Sector of Rome, in charge of pastoral care of the family. In the past, he also served as Secretary of the Commission for Culture and Communication of the Italian Conference of Bishops.

H. E. Msgr. Dario Gervasi was appointed Adjunct Secretary of the Dicastery for Laity, Family, and Life on 31 October 2024.
