In Paris, the French directors of Youth Ministry set out on the path towards the 2018 Synod on Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment 3

A day of formation, organized by the French Episcopal Conference’s National Service for the Evangelization of Youth and Vocations, brought together youth ministry directors of dioceses, movements, associations and communities, on Thursday, 9 March, in Paris.
In addition to a report on the progress of the preparation of the upcoming XV General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops scheduled for October 2018, the following questions were proposed for discussion: How can we live the Synod to which Pope Francis has convoked the whole Church today? How can the preparation of the Synod of Bishops on “Youth, faith and vocational discernment” involve and stimulate the responsibility of youth workers? How can we accompany the reflection and dynamic launched by the perspective of the next Synod on the proposed theme?
Father João Chagas, Head of our Dicastery’s Youth Department, reported on the preparations for the 2018 Synod and spoke about the Preparatory document’s contents and its impact on youth ministry today.
