Confidite, ego vici mundum: The Theme Song of WYD Seoul 2027

With one year to go, the Local Organizing Committee has released the official song that will accompany the World Youth Day in Seoul

The official Theme Song for the upcoming 41st World Youth Day, which will take place in Seoul from August 3 to 8 of next year, was unveiled on August 3—exactly one year before the event begins—via a live stream on the World Youth Day 2027 YouTube channel.

Titled in Latin Confidite, ego vici mundum (Take courage: I have conquered the world!), the song was selected from among 434 entries, 294 of which came from abroad. The winning composition was written by Korean composer Francis Jiyoon Kim. Inspired by the theme of WYD 2027, it aims to become a shared expression of faith for pilgrims and a distinctive musical symbol of WYD Seoul 2027.

The Theme Song was officially presented in two versions: the first, more classical version, was performed by the WYD Seoul 2027 Orchestra and Choir; the second was arranged in a K-pop style.

Conceived as an international hymn, it is performed in six alternating languages: Korean, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian.

The videos, sheet music, and lyrics are available on the official website of WYD Seoul 2027, on the page dedicated to the Theme Song.
