From Aparecida: Young People on Mission in Brazilian Cities

Saturday, July 29th marked the end of Aparecida “Rota 300,” a missionary project that involved many young people. The initiative is part of a three-year pastoral project promoted by the Brazilian Bishops’ Conference on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the recovery of the image of Our Lady Aparecida, in Brazil.
These three years ended a few days ago with an intense missionary experience. Nearly 2000 young people spent a whole week on mission, evangelizing in the dioceses near Aparecida. The anniversary celebrations of the recovery were concluded on Saturday, July 29th, with a series of activities at the National Shrine.
On this occasion, Fr. João Chagas, head of the youth section of our Dicastery, personally brought a message from the Holy Father addressed to the young Brazilians. Fr. João also gave a brief catechesis on the theme “The Almighty has done great things for me.”
